Cobden is a murder ballad set in a time of turmoil both at home and abroad. Maria, our heroine, is alone but not weak. Her assailant would attest to this if life permitted. The shot rang out in a world of midnight ramblings and scorched earth correspondence, where a Cooper’s Hawk weighs right from wrong and The Diviner, trades gun for rod.
